My name is Ida Mae and I love to make things.
That's why I've titled this blog IdaMade.
It is my hope to encourage and inspire others by sharing my creations,
and maybe some insights along the way.
SO,
where do I start?
I think I will begin by showing some projects from the past few months and just give you a taste of what I like to do.
My daughter is a collector of BJDs which is short for ball-jointed doll.
We had seen some pants like these online, but they cost more than what I would spend
for pants for myself. : )
SO...being the crazy momma that I am, I set out to make them.
I had to find separating zippers small enough for the pant legs,
and yes,
the bottom parts of the legs do zip off.
Aren't they cute?!?! I was so proud of myself.
This is a tuxedo I constructed for this doll to wear to a doll convention in St Louis.
The theme was Circus and this guy was a ringmaster.
I used rubber stamps to make the patches on the pant leg.
Jacket designed by my daughter, and I took her drawing and put it together for her.
T shirt made from one I found at a thrift store.
This is MY bjd. Her name is Paisley.
I took a shoe box and turned it
into her boho hangout.
This is what she looks like now. My daughter customized her for me.
Don't you love the face up?
I do more than doll clothes and doll hang outs.
This is a tuffet I made last fall.
This is one of my most favorite things I've ever made.
This is a picture showing all the gores of the tuffet.
You get these all fixed and then sew them together.
This is my completed tuffet. Today I finished a quilt to coordinate.
Makes a nice reading corner, don't you think?
And finally, my last entry for this post.
My sister came to visit recently and we did a few fun things while she was here.
We each made our own shadow box like this:
We even ended up making one for our brother.
SO....
check back occasionally and see what else I've been up to.
It is my hope that you will be inspired and encouraged to let your creative juices flow.
